Invitation: Meet the Team Behind Columbia University’s M.S. in Information and Knowledge Strategy
Guy St. Clair
Interest in Columbia University’s Master of Science in Information and Knowledge Strategy Program continues to grow. To introduce the program team to people who want to know more about what they will learn as they pursue the degree, a special information session has now been scheduled.
About the Program
The Master of Science in Information and Knowledge Strategy is designed to teach the skills necessary for professionals in any industry where the need to create and leverage information and knowledge is a critical leadership requirement. The program teaches students to plan, design and evaluate initiatives using knowledge and information across a wide spectrum of global environments. Students also develop a critical insight into the factors that influence an organization’s ability to leverage information, and learn to analyze, manage and solve problems that impact process, human resources and technology.
This is a sixteen month low-residency online program framed by three residencies on the Columbia campus in New York City. The residencies offer the opportunity to get to know fellow students, receive individual coaching from faculty, and network with leaders in the field.
The online component of the program is a highly interactive experience where students and faculty communicate through a unique social networking function in ways that extend and enhance the impact of traditional learning experiences. Courses are flexible by design, and include a combination of live events, community-driven activities and self-study.
Who Should Apply
The program is of value to individuals from a wide range of backgrounds from corporate, government and not-for-profit sectors where the use of information and knowledge is essential to organizational performance. Geared towards mid-career individuals looking for new challenges, those who want to expand or extend their current roles, and current or future entrepreneurs who recognize the opportunities to create new ventures in the knowledge domain, the program takes an original and pragmatic approach to the exploration of emerging professional opportunities in this field.
